USING THE IPHONE APPLICATION

The app leverages a tab bar to provide quick access to five main screens: the home screen, the wine list, the podcasts, the enquiry list and finally the settings.  Each of these tabs contain intuitive interfaces and are described below under the images.

The Home Screen   The Wine List

The home screen contains various details concerning The Antique Wine Company including pertinent contact information. Rotating images compliment the content.

The Wine List is where the user can browse the entire database of wines.  There are options to browse by region, vintage and price or review our stock of the world's top wines.  One can update the database of wines, tasting notes and images by clicking on the "Update Database" button.  A wireless connection is recommended.

The Search Function   The Detailed Wine View

The wine list provides an intuitive search function to search by vintage, name, region or a combination.  The results list is dynamically updated as the user types the search field.

The detailed view shows information on the selected wine such as price, format and unit of sale.  The user also has access to detailed tasting notes from the world's leading wine experts by tapping the "Notes" button to flip the view.  The wine can be added to the Enquiry List using the "Add to Enquiry List" button.

The Podcast List   The Podcast Player

The Podcast List displays the various podcasts the user can download.  These podcasts are approximately two minutes long each and are part of an ongoing series on Riviera Radio in Monaco.  Tap on "Update List" to check for updates.

The Podcast player downloads the selected podcast.  A wireless connection is recommended.  Player controls are available to pause and step back or forwards in ten second intervals.  Rotating images complement the audio.

The Enquiry List   Editing the Enquiry List

The Enquiry List contains the wines that the user added while browsing the wine list.  Tap on any of the wines for a reminder of the details.

The Enquiry List leverages standard Apple table editing capabilities in order to delete wines from the Enquiry List.

Submitting the Enquiry List   Settings

Tap the "Submit" button to submit your Enquiry List to The Antique Wine Company.  Note that you must provide your name and email address in the Settings tab (or in the Antique Wine option in the iPhone master settings).

The Settings tab is where the user should add his contact information.  This data will be submitted to The Antique Wine Company when submitting an Enquiry List.  It is not used for any other purpose.  One can also set the display current to Pounds Stirling, US Dollars or Euros in addition to specifying whether to save downloaded podcast data.
